George Dorsey

CHAIRMAN, CEO AND PRESIDENT

George Dorsey has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Edgewood Holdings LLC since founding the firm in 2001. Prior to the formation of Edgewood, Mr. Dorsey served in management roles at Merrill Lynch, Pechiney Ugine Kuhlmann, Associated Metals and Minerals, Aquila Energy, Duke Energy, and other firms active worldwide in chemicals, energy, minerals, and metals.

Mr. Dorsey currently serves on the Board of Directors of Westwater LLC, Ocean Solutions LLC, and the Bozeman Film Celebration.

Mr. Dorsey received a BA degree with Honors from the University of Vermont, studied China in the Asian Studies Masters program at the University of Kansas, and has participated in Harvard Business School executive courses.

Mr. Dorsey is the founder and owner of the Edgewater Galleries and the Bozeman Film Celebration.

Matt LaFiandra

Senior Vice President & COO

Matt LaFiandra is the Chief Operations Officer at Edgewood Holdings and provides project management, engineering, and construction expertise to the development projects in Edgewood’s investment portfolio and as part of Edgewood’s consulting services. He was primarily responsible for Edgewoods development, management, and oversight of the $270M capital expenditure program at RTI from 2010-2015.  Prior to joining Edgewood Mr. LaFiandra was a Project Manager for Pulte Homes, Inc., one of the 2 largest homebuilders in the United States. While at Pulte, he was responsible for the site management of numerous housing development projects valued from $20-70 million.

Mr. LaFiandra holds a B.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of California – San Diego. He holds a Masters in Engineering Management from Duke University, where he was a Parsons Commercial Technology Group Fellow.

Travis Dorsey

Vice President

Travis Dorsey is a Vice President at Edgewood and has significant commercial experience trading petroleum products and developing new global markets with a particular focus on Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean.  He is a founder of Ocean Solutions LLC.  Prior to founding Ocean Solutions, Mr. Dorsey was head of North American gasoline trading for Glencore AG, a senior gasoline trader at Noble Group and a senior trader at Valero Energy. Mr. Dorsey received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana. Mr. Dorsey has also participated in Harvard Business School executive education courses.

Don Smith

Corporate Secretary

Donald Smith is the Corporate Secretary and General Counsel of Edgewood Holdings LLC. Mr. Smith graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1971. Mr. Smith served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps after graduation from George Washington University’s National Law Center. Since completing his active duty military service, Mr. Smith has served a broad and diverse group of corporate clients. Mr. Smith joined Edgewood as a Senior Vice President and General Counsel in 2005. Mr. Smith is admitted to the bar in Florida and New York.

Ken Willig

Director

Mr. Willig has been providing legal services and advice to lenders, investors and governments in the areas of international, cross-border and domestic energy and infrastructure projects for almost 40 years. Prior to forming his own boutique law firm. Mr. Willig was the Chair and/or founder of project finance and energy practices at three major international law firms and was a principal participant working with Sen. George Mitchell in the creation of DLA Piper, serving as the Global Head of its Commercial Group. His educational background in comparative law, civil law, as well as common law, has provided a unique perspective to his clients on the different aspects of legal systems and cultures outside the US, and their assessment of risk. Mr. Willig serves as an advisor to the International Journal of Law and Economics, is a former member of the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania and was a Mombusho Scholar at the University of Osaka, Japan from 1973-75. He holds a B.A. (cum laude) from Brooklyn College, a Ph.D in comparative legal history and a J.D., both from the University of Pennsylvania.

Andy Duarte

Director

Mr. Duarte has over 40 years of experience trading and brokering physical commodities primarily in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has founded a number of companies including Duarte Vivas & Asociados, C.A., a trading and representation company focused on Venezuela and Latin America. In this role, he has served as a representative agent for large multinationals including DeLa Rue Group, The Royal Mint UK, and Bunge. In addition, he has served as the Consul General in Venezuela for the Republic of the Philippines. Mr. Duarte has a BA from Ohio Wesleyan, an MS in Petroleum Geology from University of Oklahoma and an MA in International Affairs from Tufts. Mr. Duarte is also a member of the board of trustees at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Marc Davidson

Senior Operating Advisor

Marc Davidson is a Senior Operations Advisor at Edgewood. He has significant refined products and crude oil commercial experience with terminal and pipeline assets, with a particular focus on acquisitions, organic growth projects (including rail) and FERC regulations.  In total, he has 44 years of experience in refining and midstream businesses.  Prior to joining Edgewood, Mr. Davidson was Senior Director of Business Development for Buckeye Partners responsible for revenue growth in both the pipeline and terminal businesses.  At Shell Oil, he had various assignments, including head of Refinery Optimization U.S.  Mr. Davidson received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and his Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Stephen Claiborn

Operating Advisor

Mr. Claiborn has over four decades of experience in public sector finance and consulting at bulge bracket investment banks. Until 2016, he was a managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was instrumental in building the firm’s public sector presence in the Southwest from ground level to the top-ranked firm upon his retirement. While at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, he was responsible for the largest municipal bond deal in Texas. Prior to Bank of America Merrill Lynch, he had extended tenure at other large bulge bracket banks and taught economics and finance at University of Houston, Wayne State University and University of Dayton. Mr. Claiborn has BA in Economics from University of Texas, Austin and a PhD in Finance from the University of Houston.

Clay Landry

Operating Advisor

Clay Landry is the founder & Managing Director of WestWater Research, which he started in 2001. During his tenure, Mr. Landry has advised on over $750 million in water transactions and has acted as an advisor to numerous private equity funds. In 2007, he managed an auction of municipal effluent water rights which closed at $67 million in proceeds for a small city in Arizona. Regularly works with private equity firms and hedge funds in structuring deals and sourcing funds for water development and acquisition projects. Prior to founding WWR, he was an associate at the Political Economy Research Center (PERC), a public policy research institute that specializes in market approaches to natural resource management.

Mr. Landry holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics, University of Wyoming and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Oregon State University.

John M. Schmidt

Operating Advisor

John M. Schmidt is the President and CEO of McQuilling Partners Inc., a privately-owned marine services company delivering professional, reliable, and personalized transportation services to global clientele through 11 offices worldwide.  The company was established in New York in 1972 with a vision of service and commitment to the maritime industry and has expanded to a global presence of more than 160 employees worldwide.

Mr. Schmidt is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY.
